The story behind the name
About us
This project was born in Monza, out of the work of Striom: a digital agency that has spent years building websites, strategies and tools for people who don't just want to be online, but want to be online well. Website development, web marketing, tailor-made solutions for businesses and professionals: that's the ground we work on every day, and where the idea for Etizei came from.
It grew out of something very concrete, met firsthand across dozens of client projects: knowing, with certainty, whether a site is reachable, before anyone else notices it isn't. No shortcuts, no empty promises: just a tool that actually does what it says.
Why it's called Etizei
The name comes from the ancient Greek ἐθίζει, read ethízei: a verb that means "dwells", "is accustomed to", "has the habit of doing something". It isn't an acronym, and it wasn't invented to sound good on an available domain. It's a real word, chosen for what it actually means.
Two reasons made it feel like the right one.
The first is how it sounds. Said out loud, "ethízei" sounds almost like at ease, and it echoes, closely, the word for the very thing being watched day and night: uptime.
The second is the meaning, the one that matters most. To say a site "ethízei" is to say it dwells stably online, that it has picked up the habit of staying up. Not just a check that pings you when something breaks, but a service built to verify whether a site keeps its habit of being there, always, without unplanned gaps. That's the difference between hoping it holds up and knowing it does, out of habit.
What that means in practice
A single project or an entire portfolio of client sites: the principle doesn't change. Watch, measure, and flag the moment something drifts from normal, with the same attention Striom puts into every site it builds.
